MOXI Laser TreatmentNew Jersey

Sun damage and changes in skin texture can show up before you need more aggressive treatments. Uneven pigmentation, roughness, larger pores, and fine lines can make your skin look less clear. The right treatment depends on how deep your concerns are, your skin type, and how much recovery time you have.

MOXI is a gentle fractional laser used for early correction and ongoing skin maintenance. At The Godek Center for Personal Enhancement in New Jersey, we tailor each treatment to your skin tone, treatment area, sun exposure, and the results you want. Our goal is to help you achieve smoother skin and a brighter complexion through careful renewal.

What Is the MOXI Laser?

MOXI is a non-ablative fractional laser that uses a 1927 nm wavelength to treat tiny areas of your skin. This controlled energy boosts cell turnover without removing the top layer of skin, making MOXI helpful for uneven tone, sun damage, rough texture, and early signs of aging.

MOXI works by targeting water in the skin instead of melanin. It treats small sections at a time, allowing the surrounding skin to help with healing. The intensity can be adjusted for revitalizing, correcting, or maintaining your skin.

What Skin Concerns Can MOXI Treat?

MOXI primarily treats superficial pigment and early texture concerns. Consultation determines whether each change is an appropriate target.

  • Uneven skin tone and patchy pigmentation
  • Sun damage, sun spots, and age spots
  • Rough or dull skin texture
  • Early fine lines and visible signs of aging
  • Enlarged-looking pores
  • Mild texture irregularities
  • Skin that would benefit from maintenance treatments

MOXI does not restore facial volume or substantially tighten loose skin. Deep wrinkles, pronounced acne scars, laxity, and certain pigment conditions may require other cosmetic procedures. Changing lesions need medical evaluation.

What Are the Benefits of MOXI?

MOXI provides customizable skin rejuvenation with little downtime. The laser energy starts the renewal process and helps your skin produce more collagen. As your skin heals, you may notice a brighter, more even tone and smoother texture.

Because MOXI is non-ablative, it allows for early correction or maintenance with less recovery time than stronger laser treatments. It gradually boosts collagen production, so you may keep seeing improvements even after your skin renews. Your results will depend on the treatment intensity, your skin’s condition, how you heal, and how well you protect your skin from the sun.

Who Is a Good Candidate for MOXI?

You may be a good candidate for MOXI if you are healthy and want to treat sun damage, pigmentation, dullness, or texture issues with a recovery time you can manage. MOXI is a good choice if you prefer gradual improvement instead of a more intensive procedure.

Since MOXI’s wavelength targets water, it can be used on many different skin tones. People with darker skin may be more likely to develop pigmentation after treatment, so we adjust the settings and provide personalized instructions for care before and after the procedure.

We may need to postpone treatment if you are pregnant, have recently tanned, or have sunburn, an infection, open skin, or irritation. Please let us know if you take medications that make your skin sensitive to light, have cold sores, melasma, or have had reactions to lasers before.

What Areas Can MOXI Treat?

MOXI can be used on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, and legs. Since each area has different skin thickness and heals differently, we adjust the energy, density, and number of passes for each treatment area.

How Should I Prepare for MOXI?

Start with skin that is not tanned. Try to avoid sun exposure, use sunscreen, and let any self-tanner fade before your appointment. We may ask you to stop using retinoids, acids, or other products that make your skin more sensitive.

Let us know about any medications you take, recent procedures, rashes, or changes in your health. Only change your medications if your prescribing doctor tells you to. If you get cold sores, we may give you instructions for antiviral medication.

What Happens During a MOXI Laser Treatment?

MOXI treatments are done in our office and are customized for you during your consultation.

  1. We start by preparing your skin, removing any products, and making sure your skin is not tanned.
  2. We make sure you are comfortable by providing protective eyewear. We may also use numbing cream and cooling to help you feel at ease.
  3. The laser is then applied to your skin using a rolling handpiece that ensures even coverage and creates tiny treatment zones. Most people feel warmth or a prickling sensation as the laser passes over the skin.
  4. After your treatment, we’ll give you recommended products and instructions to help you cleanse, moisturize, protect your skin from the sun, and safely restart your skincare routine.

How long your treatment takes depends on the area, density, and intensity. MOXI is sometimes called a lunchtime procedure, but numbing and preparation can add extra time.

What Is MOXI Recovery Like?

Skin looks pink and feels warm afterward. Warmth often settles within a few hours. Over several days, microscopic areas called MENDs reach the surface, making skin look bronzed and feel rough.

MENDs will shed on their own, so avoid picking or exfoliating to reduce the risk of irritation or pigmentation. Use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. You can usually wear makeup after 24 hours if your provider says it’s okay. Most people can go back to their normal activities right away.

When Will I See MOXI Results?

You’ll usually see your skin brighten as the redness fades and rough texture goes away, often within a week. Your skin may look more even and feel smoother, with continued improvement in the weeks that follow.

Most people notice improvement after their first session. For more complete results, we often recommend three to four sessions, spaced four to five weeks apart.

How Long Do MOXI Results Last?

MOXI can help improve your skin’s tone and texture, but aging and sun exposure will still happen over time. Using sunscreen every day, wearing protective clothing, and following a good skincare routine can help you keep your results. How often you need maintenance depends on your lifestyle and goals.

What Are the Benefits of Combining BBL Laser and MOXI?

MOXI and BroadBand Light (BBL) each target different signs of sun damage. MOXI works on renewing the skin, treating surface pigmentation, and improving texture. BBL is used for specific brown and red discoloration. If you have both types of concerns, combining BBL and MOXI can give you more complete results for tone and texture.

Whether BBL is right for you depends on your skin tone, the type of pigmentation, and recent tanning, since melanin absorbs light. Sometimes, MOXI alone may be safer or better suited to your needs.
